Competition Dates: June 16 – 17, 2018

We are inviting all past & current BC Seafood Festival chefs to participate in the creation of a new event to feature BC chefs and seafood excellence, the FortisBC BC Seafood Festival Chef Challenge – a unique competition for chefs to showcase their skills and show how they create incredible seafood culinary excellence.

The competition took place at the BC Seafood Festival during the Signature Weekend, June 16-17, 2018 in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island.

The top prize will be $5000 and second prize $1500 thanks to FortisBC, and the small wares being provided by Bargreen Ellingson, and all of the large cooking equipment is being proudly sponsored by Garland Canada.

Preliminary Chef Challenge

Chefs will be given a black box of ingredients and must prepare an entrée dish in a 45 minute preliminary heat. Each Chef is allowed to bring 2 secret ingredients to create their dish. From the 1 dish prepared, Chefs will prepare 4 plates, one plate for each judge for tasting, 4th plate will be used for visual display for judges.
